Former Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-Tenn.-N.Y.), who just decided not to challenge Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in the Democratic primary, isn't ready to say yet whether he will endorse her.
"There will come a time when all those questions will have to be answered," Ford said Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press." "I've not been asked. I've not spoken with Sen. Gillibrand, but I'm a Democrat, I'm an independent Democrat," he said.
Ford said he opted against a primary race because it could have been "ugly" and might have helped the GOP snatch the seat.
